Glass Fiber

Glass fiber is considered solid waste, primarily due to its high content of glass fibers, making its disposal relatively easy and harmless. However, if certain glass fiber products contain other toxic or hazardous substances, they may be classified as hazardous waste, requiring special handling measures.

The discarded glass fiber products are crushed to obtain glass fiber powder. This powder can be used to manufacture new fiber products or as filler materials, such as glass fiber reinforced plastics. Glass fiber can also undergo pyrolysis at high temperatures to produce glass microspheres. These microspheres are widely used in areas such as building insulation, reflective materials, and cosmetics.
